As I reflect on 2024, I’m reminded of the saying: people come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. My heart is full of gratitude for the connections I’ve made, the conversations I’ve shared, and the friendships I’ve found.
It’s amazing how a simple hello can turn into something profound. I still remember meeting a young woman on the Tube in London when I was 16. We had just finished a computer programming class—one that taught me I wouldn’t be a programmer! That quick connection on a train grew into one of my dearest lifelong friendships.
Last April, during my trip to Trinidad and Tobago, I met Dara-Maria. As we chatted, I had no idea how much our paths would intertwine. By summer, Dara joined ABWilson Consulting, bringing her expertise, insight, and warmth to the team. She has quickly become an invaluable colleague, a trusted sounding board, and a true support.
Please join me in officially welcoming Dara to the team! You may already know her—she hosted December’s C3 Gathering while I was in Sierra Leone. She’ll also be leading January’s C3 Gathering, and I know you’ll enjoy connecting with her as much as I have.
Here’s to the connections that shape us and the joy of building meaningful friendships.
Did you meet a friend in an unusual place, at an unexpected time? Please share.
